Are you licensed and insured?
Dedhico is licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (License #) and the Washington, DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (License #) and we are insured in all of our service areas. Some individual home improvement and remodeling contractors that claim to be “licensed” merely carry a traders business license which does not meet the requirements for Maryland Home Improvement Work. Always ask for the DCRAHIC License Number in the district or the MHIC License number in Maryland and verify the license number via the web. (Occasionally with the DCRA, licensing takes longer to process so be sure to call the DCRA before assuming the contractor you are working with is not licensed and/or never was.)

What happens if the project I am looking to do is too far out of my price range?
Dedhico provides homeowners with a service that we refer to as “value engineering.” During this process, we review all aspects of the job to figure out which pieces are the most important to our customers and where we can work to save money. It often happens, particularly with an outside architect, that we are able to re-use some existing fixtures and cabinetry in order to provide the customer with high dollar crown moldings or omit pricey windows to completely redo the kitchen cabinets. Value engineering allows our customers to prioritize their costs and complete their vision at a price that is reasonable to them.
